Alabama 3 put on a hell of a show. I've seen them many, many times and its always, without fail, a great night out.
I often end up drawing them (see) and wanted to do something akin to the grungy old grindhouse movie posters of the 70s but with a techno/dance vibe. Originally I was going to add a bunch of imagery inspired by lines from their songs, 'Helicopters circled like vultures in the midday sun.' etc. However with so many narratives to chose from it would have got very busy very fast. Regardless, the characters they portray on stage are enough to work up something really fun.
I do reckon Alabama 3 should put together a Sweet Pretty Muthafuckin' Country Acid House Western movie one day though. Right?
I also began to do all past members of the band in one image, but honestly there's been a lot and I wasn't sure where to stop. Maybe I'll return to that at some point (likely next time I see them).
